With a red flag warning in effect until 6pm Friday, October 11, RSFFPD firefighters are packed and ready to go if needed. Two firefighters are staffing a water tender and we have an additional crew on standby. OES 336 is en route to the Sandal Fire as part of Strike Team 6840A. Here are some resources and steps you can take now to prepare for fire weather:

At this time, there are no power shutdowns planned for our district; however, it’s always good to be prepared for a power outage, planned or unplanned. |
Become familiar with SDG&E’s Public Safety Power Shutoff program and view their outage map. |
Prepare for evacuation, including evacuation of your pets and large animals. Have an evacuation plan that includes where you are going and how you will get there. Have a back up plan and a plan for if you cannot get out. Know what you are going to take with you. Leave early! |
