RANCHO SANTA FE — After nearly 35 years in the fire service, Fire Chief Nicholas “Nick” Pavone announced this week that he will retire in October from the Rancho Santa Fe Fire Protection District.
The fire district operates out of four, full-time fire stations and serves the communities within and surrounding Rancho Santa Fe and 4S Ranch.
“I am very grateful for the opportunities that I have been afforded during my tenure here at Rancho Santa Fe,” Pavone said in an e-mail to staff members. “We are so fortunate to work in an organization and community that appreciates its employees for their commitment and dedication.”
