RANCHO SANTA FE, CA – On Friday, January 8, at 8:48 pm, firefighters from the Rancho Santa Fe Fire Protection District and Solana Beach Fire Department responded to a residential structure fire in the 500 block of Mariposa in Rancho Santa Fe. Upon arrival they discovered that the fire, which was located in a confined space around the fireplace, had been controlled by the residential fire sprinkler system. All occupants were able to safely evacuate. Firefighters assured extension into the attic was extinguished. Damage to the 5,000 square-foot home was estimated to be $23,000.
