“Once burned, twice
shy” (Local, Aug. 24) reports that residents at The Trails at Rancho Bernardo, near San Pasqual Agricultural Preserve and Open Space, are demanding additional removal of vegetation under the impression that this would reduce chances of their houses burning down. They would be better off asking themselves what they can do to make their house more fire-safe and less likely to be penetrated by embers.
