We are under a Red Flag Warning through Saturday, with winds expected to pick up Wednesday night through Thursday (see an update from the National Weather Service below). Now is the time to prepare for wildfire, just in case. Make sure you have a plan and know what you are going to take. Remember, you may only have a few minutes notice to evacuate. If you haven’t signed up to receive evacuation notices on your cell phone through AlertSanDiego, now is the time to do so. You may also wish to download San Diego County’s Emergency app.
From the National Weather Service
Strong mountain wave activity is expected across Southern California late tonight through Thursday, especially in San Diego county. This graphic shows a hi-res model projection of mountain wave induced strong wind speeds across a portion of the San Diego county coastal foothills Thursday. Gusty Santa Ana winds are expected to be widespread in the coast and valley areas Thursday, resulting in an extreme fire weather threat.
