Construction on our new Station 5 in Harmony Grove Village is now underway! We’ll be posting updates throughout the process so keep checking back.

June 26, 2020 – We are getting close to wrapping up this project and moving our crews in. Water, power, and gas are all on and functioning in the station. They cleaned the domestic water system today. EHCC is performing system checks and certifying the building. As soon as the fire line connection is made we can apply for the final inspection. We are still looking at a move in date of July 15.

June 18, 2020 – As you can see, Station 5 is getting close to completion. We have a small amount of concrete work left and then EHCC will be cleaning up the site, preparing for move in. As soon as we get the clearance to make the fire line connection from the water dept. we will have cleared our last hurdle. Landscape installation will start this next week also.

March 29, 2020 – The exterior of the building is very close to completion. There are a few locations that are getting decorative stonework and the building signage needs to be installed. Then the construction will be more or less complete. The images below show concrete flatwork being done, which is the big push right now as we need to have cure time before apparatus can drive on it.

We passed a big hurdle yesterday. The county building inspector signed off on electrical. That means SDG&E can set the transformer and the building will have power. Next week the carpet will be put down and other trades will continue finish work. Our move in date is a moving target, but we are looking at the first part of July. As we know more, we will pass on the information.

February 27, 2020 – The Inspector passed the building for rough framing, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing. Insulation and dry wall was started on Friday morning as were the driveway curb and gutter. You will see the finish grade around the building start to take shape. Additionally, the perimeter columns for the fence are up as well as the masonry work for the trash enclosure.

February 14, 2020 -What’s new this week? Rough Framing, mechanical, electrical & plumbing inspections have passed so that means next week drywall will start to get hung. The asphalt driveway has been removed so curb & gutter work can start on the new driveway. Lathers are working to get ahead of drywall.

December 21, 2019 – Station 5 is getting wrapped in preparation for lathe (stucco) and the cement board siding that will be going on the building soon. Window frames, doors, and windows are also getting installed.

November 8, 2019 – All the walls for the station are up! They are in the process of sheeting the roof and building soffits and backing. Rough electrical and plumbing are up next.

November 1, 2019 – Great progress on the station. There are 14 framers on site building walls and it shows. By the end of next week all the walls should be up and all the conventional roof framing complete.

October 25, 2019 – Due to the red flag event, the rest of the concrete pour was delayed. The rest of the concrete is going down.
Framing will continue and the 2nd hydro mod basin will be finishing up the next week also.
