Board of Directors

Board Member Responsibility:
The Board of Directors has the ability to establish policies and guidelines for the Rancho Santa Fe Fire Protection District that may exceed County and State laws.

The Board meets on the 2nd Wednesday of each month at 1:00 p.m. Meetings are held in the Board Community Room located at 16936 El Fuego (Headquarters). The members elected serve 4 year terms and elections are usually held in conjunction with County elections.

The general powers and duties of the Board of Directors include, but are not limited to: adopting fire prevention codes and ordinances, acquiring equipment, appoint necessary employees and define their qualifications and duties, mutual aid agreements, building standards, fire and panic safety, fire sprinklers, hazard correction or elimination, weed abatement, contracts for services outside District, enter joint powers agreements (such as North County Dispatch Joint Powers Agency).
